“I seldom gave reviews but Kathleen's professionalism and dedication is top-notch! From the time of her assessment of my son's recurring condition to the pre and post surgery therapy, she has been consistent in her quality of care. As a healthcare worker myself, I am truly grateful for the benefits of myofascial therapy to my son.”

“I benefited enormously from the skill and expertise of Kathleen McQuestion. She prepared a detailed report that my VA physician reviewed and approved for treatment — and my daily sleep apnea measurements dramatically improved as a result. She is not only a very skilled practitioner but also a delightful person. I recommend Kathleen McQuestion and Florida Myo highly, without reservation.”

“After 8 months of myofunctional therapy, I just completed my final session — and I truly can't express how grateful and happy I am. Before starting, I struggled with insomnia, relied on my BiPAP machine, woke up with headaches, and never felt truly rested. Today, I sleep through the night, fall asleep quickly, wake up refreshed, and no longer need my BiPAP. This has been life-changing for me.”

“Incredible experience. Kathleen is knowledgeable, patient, explains the procedures she is doing and gives directions for home practice. Professional service.”

My daughter and I truly enjoyed our time with her and would recommend her services to anyone looking to make a positive impact on airway health, posture, muscle tone, and overall wellness! She is simply the BEST!!”

“Kathleen is amazing. She is very knowledgeable about oral function, swallowing, breathing, and everything else involved in this therapy. Best of all, she helps you laugh at yourself when some of the exercises sound and look a little silly — but then have amazing outcomes. I'm seeing a lot of improvement doing this therapy and I recommend it to anyone. It really does change how you feel.”

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist
With more than 20 years of experience in dentistry, Kathleen McQuestion brings a unique depth of clinical knowledge to orofacial myofunctional therapy. As a Registered Dental Hygienist and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, she specializes in the relationship between oral function, breathing, sleep, and overall health.
Kathleen's approach is centered on understanding the functional patterns behind her patients' concerns—how the tongue, lips, jaw, and facial muscles work together, and how these patterns can influence breathing, swallowing, sleep, and long-term oral health.
A Florida native and Tampa Bay practitioner, Kathleen earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene, graduating magna cum laude from St. Petersburg College. She has continued her professional education through advanced training in orofacial myofunctional therapy and brings extensive clinical and teaching experience to every patient she serves.
Outside the Office
When she isn't working with patients, Kathleen loves embracing the Florida lifestyle. She enjoys spending time at the beach, staycations, camping, and getting lost in a good book. She is also an avid theater enthusiast and loves discovering new restaurants and experiences. Much of her free time is spent with her family and three dogs, who keep life active, entertaining, and full of personality.
Kathleen believes that exceptional care begins with listening, understanding the whole person, and creating an individualized path toward better function.
Breathe Better. Sleep Deeper. Thrive Fully.
Kathleen brings 20+ years of dental hygiene experience to every session — a rare combination of clinical depth and specialized myofunctional training under one therapist.
Unlike offices that prescribe appliances or medications, Florida Myo uses a natural, exercise-based approach that retrains the underlying muscles driving sleep apnea, orthodontic relapse, and chronic jaw pain.
Dedicated myofunctional therapy providers are scarce in the Apollo Beach, Ruskin, and greater Tampa Bay corridor. Florida Myo fills that gap — and accepts referrals from local dentists, orthodontists, and ENTs.
What is OMT?
Orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) is a therapeutic program that retrains the muscles of the mouth, face, and airway to function properly. These muscles play a critical role in nasal breathing, tongue posture, swallowing and chewing, speech development, facial and jaw growth, and sleep quality and airway support.
When these systems are out of balance — whether from tongue-tie, mouth breathing, thumb sucking, or orthodontic extractions — the body compensates. Over time, these compensations can lead to crowded teeth, underdeveloped jaws, forward head posture, TMJ pain, sleep fragmentation, and more.
At Florida Myo, we assess and treat these dysfunctions at the muscular and behavioral level — helping patients breathe, sleep, and function better.
Looking for a holistic solution to your child's sleep struggles, mouth breathing, or behavioral challenges? Florida Myo specializes in pediatric myofunctional therapy designed to address the underlying causes of sleep-disordered breathing and support healthier breathing, sleep, and oral function. Based in the South Shore area, we proudly serve families throughout Ruskin, Apollo Beach, Brandon, Sun City Center, Sarasota, and surrounding communities across Hillsborough and Manatee Counties. For families outside our local service area, virtual appointments are also available, making expert myofunctional therapy accessible to children and families throughout Florida and beyond.
