“I have severe obstructive sleep apnea and benefited enormously from Kathleen's skill and expertise. She prepared a detailed report that my VA physician reviewed and approved for treatment — and my daily sleep apnea measurements dramatically improved as a result. Beyond her knowledge, she is a delightful person who makes the time go by quickly. I recommend Florida Myo highly, without reservation.”

What is OMT?
Orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) is a therapeutic program that retrains the muscles of the mouth, face, and airway to function properly. These muscles play a critical role in nasal breathing, tongue posture, swallowing and chewing, speech development, facial and jaw growth, and sleep quality and airway support.
When these systems are out of balance — whether from tongue-tie, mouth breathing, thumb sucking, or orthodontic extractions — the body compensates. Over time, these compensations can lead to crowded teeth, underdeveloped jaws, forward head posture, TMJ pain, sleep fragmentation, and more.
At Florida Myo, we assess and treat these dysfunctions at the muscular and behavioral level — helping patients breathe, sleep, and function better.
Looking for a holistic solution to your child's sleep struggles, mouth breathing, or behavioral challenges? Florida Myo specializes in pediatric myofunctional therapy designed to address the underlying causes of sleep-disordered breathing and support healthier breathing, sleep, and oral function. Based in the Tampa Bay area, we proudly serve families throughout Ruskin, Apollo Beach, Brandon, Sun City Center, Sarasota, and surrounding communities across Hillsborough and Manatee Counties. For families outside our local service area, virtual appointments are also available, making expert myofunctional therapy accessible to children and families throughout Florida and beyond.
Why Florida Myo
Kathleen brings 20+ years of dental hygiene experience to every session — a rare combination of clinical depth and specialized myofunctional training under one therapist.
Unlike offices that prescribe appliances or medications, Florida Myo uses a natural, exercise-based approach that retrains the underlying muscles driving sleep apnea, orthodontic relapse, and chronic jaw pain.
Dedicated myofunctional therapy providers are scarce in the Apollo Beach, Ruskin, and greater Tampa Bay corridor. Florida Myo fills that gap — and accepts referrals from local dentists, orthodontists, and ENTs.
